He was on shaky legs but was able to slow down Yusuff, who took him down on the mat. Edson Barboza almost trapped the 30-year-old’s leg for a submission but could not complete the attempt. All in all, ‘Junior’ found himself in a bad situation, but his experience helped him survive the first round.

The second round saw both fighters trade strikes with each other. Edson Barboza was able to recover from the first round and put up a great fight in the second round. However, he had been bruised by the strikes from Sodiq Yusuff. Furthermore, Barboza landed an impressive spinning wheel kick on the head that dropped the Nigerian-American fighter to the mat in the third round. But even that could not finish him.
