What’s the first thing that pops in your mind when you think about the heavyweight UFC champion of the world, Jon Jones? That perhaps he’s the GOAT of MMA? Maybe. That he’s got a brutal record of wins? Definitely. There are, in truth, many things that stand out about Jon Jones.

And one of those things is when he just doesn’t even look at his opponents during face-offs. There are other fighters also who don’t exactly look into the opponents’ eyes on camera such as Sean Strickland who has been open about how awkward it feels. But is that Jones’ reason too? He’s got an answer for us.

Jon Jones is one of the most accomplished MMA fighters in the history of the sport. The last time we saw him fight was when he locked horns with Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 when he secured a second-round submission to keep his belt to himself. Since then, Jones has been scheduled to appear for another bout against Stipe Miocic but alas, things went haywire when he ended up tearing a pectoral tendon during training. For now, he’s on the sidelines healing but he had to acknowledge a video of him.

Instagram saw a trend of a video that showed Jones facing off against many opponents. Except he wasn’t exactly facing them at all. During each and every face off, ‘Bones’ would make a point out of looking away from his opponents. Why’s that?

“Bc It’s not anything personal, they’re all amazing characters in my story.” Jones said in the comment section of one such post much to the fans’ surprise. Jones is clearly riding high as he should after defeating so many champions and iconic fighters. So, what does he have on his plate next?

What’s next for ‘Bones’?

Jon Jones is still meant to appear in a bout against Stipe Miocic. Miocic has been a prominent name in the heavyweight division just like ‘Bones’ and if anyone has a chance to secure the belt away from the champ, it’s him. However, after his championship bout fell apart due to the injury, things began changing.

Tom Aspinall began asking the UFC to strip Jones of his title after he defeated Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295 via a vicious knockout in the very first round. Now, Jones has met up with Aspinall and their interaction is all over the internet with Jones swatting Aspinall’s hand away when he touches his shoulder to greet him.

Clearly, Jon Jones isn’t about to let Aspinall measure his reach or let him get too close even during a very friendly interaction. Do you think the two will fight one day? Let us know your thoughts.
