Kamaru Usman is one of the greatest fighters in the UFC. The welterweight fighter has an MMA record of (19-1) and has been the UFC champion for almost 2 years. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ last competed in the UFC against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261 and won via a 2nd round KO.

Following that win, there was much speculation as to who the champion would face next. The UFC had announced that Colby Covington will most probably be Usman’s next opponent. However, some people disagree with the same and believe that names like Leon Edwards or Nate Diaz deserve the title shot before ‘Çhaos’.

During a recent interview, the champion’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, was asked about Usman’s future and who he will fight next. Abdelaziz said, “It’s gonna be Kamaru Usman vs. Coca-Cola bottle. It doesn’t matter, Kamaru can fight a can, a monster can, a Coca-Cola bottle. It doesn’t matter because he smashed everybody; you know. He violated everybody. Nobody deserves nothing, you know.”

Abdelaziz said Covington doesn’t deserve the title shot one bit and even suggested Nate Diaz as a possible opponent for Usman. He said, “Why not Nate Diaz? Right. Yeah, of course. At least Nate brings something to the table. But Colby, the only thing Colby brings to the table is a broken jaw. Humiliating. Like how you gonna promote the fight, getting his jaw broken and running in the Octagon like a little, you know what in reality none of these guys deserve it, none of them deserve it.”

Going by Abdelaziz’s last comment, it seems like Usman’s manager believes no one is deserving enough to face the champion.

Ali Abdelaziz talks about what Jorge Masvidal brought to the table and why Nate Diaz deserves to fight Kamaru Usman

Diaz has lost his last 2 fights and hasn’t been in the best of form. The fighter last faced Leon Edwards in a five-round non-title bout at UFC 263. Despite his final flurry, Diaz eventually lost that fight via a unanimous decision. Therefore, many people believe that Nate Diaz does not deserve a title shot.

Abdelaziz, who does not believe that, responded to the same. He said, “Hey, Masvidal didn’t deserve it too. But Masvidal, he brought something to the table. He brought entertainment. He brought excitement; you know. People believed Masvidal was one of the baddest dudes on the planet, right? But in reality, he was not.”

“He got beat at his own game, knocked out cold. Slept. He was slept. And this is the fact. No disrespect to nobody. He still went out there, put on the show for the fans. Talked the talk. But guess what? Only one king walked the walk, and Kamaru Usman is the king this night. Doesn’t matter who Kamaru is going to fight next, whoever he fights next, he’s gonna be in a body bag. They’re all gonna be in the body bag.”
