According to a statement released by the UFC, the 40-year-old veteran accepted a six-month-long suspension. Moreover, the substance was not even mentioned on the label of the container. Saint Preux also submitted his urine samples on two occasions for examination as well. As a result, he got slapped with a suspension for the second time in his UFC career. Let us take a look at his previous violation.

Details about the 26-17 fighter’s first suspension

Ovince Saint Preux’s first suspension came in 2019. Moreover, unlike his second suspension, the first one saw him using multiple prohibited and banned substances. Moreover, the 40-year-old was caught after USADA conducted an out-of-competition drug test. Saint Preux tested positive for GW1516 sulfone and GW1516 sulfoxide, which are metabolites of GW1516. Moreover, he also tested positive for ostarine and dihydroxy-LGD-4033, which was a metabolite of LGD-4033.

However, as per the investigation carried out by USADA, they found out that it was not Ovince Saint Preux’s fault. Just like the second time, his initial drug test failure was also a result of his using contaminated supplements. As a result, he got suspended for three months.

The suspension period of six months was only considered because this is Saint Preux’s second violation ever. Moreover, his ineligibility period began on June 17th this year. This means that he will be eligible to return to the Octagon in December 2023. We will have to wait and see how things unfold for the veteran.
