UFC 271 is now closer than ever, as January has almost come to an end. The event will go down on the 12th of February at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. A middleweight championship bout between Israel Adesanya and Robert Whittaker will headline the event.

The UFC has fixed a new fight for the UFC 271 event, in the preliminary card. William Knight will fight Maxim Grishin in a Light heavyweight bout at UFC 271 after Ed Herman backs out due to unknown reasons.

William Knight has taken the short notice fight and currently seems to be in terrific form. The ‘Knightmare’ has won four of his last five bouts. The last octagon appearance he had was at UFC Vegas 44. He took on Alonzo Menifield and won the bout by a unanimous decision.

He has won nine of his eleven bouts via knockout and is an exciting fighter to watch.

His opponent, 37-year-old MMA veteran, Maxim Grishin is coming off a loss to Dustin Jacoby at UFC Vegas 20. He has won only two of his last five fights and is looking to make a statement at UFC 271 this February.

Both fighters are extremely different in their fighting styles. However, Knight seems to be more active and has been in better form on paper than his Russian opponent.

UFC 271: Main card

UFC 271 has some exciting fights lined up for fight fans, the biggest one being Israel Adesanya vs Robert Whittaker 2. The third-ranked heavyweight contender, Derrick Lewis, will make a return this February as well, and take on Tai Tuivasa.

Jared Cannonier will take on Derek Brunson in a middleweight bout. In bantamweight action, Kyler Phillips will take on Marcelo Rojo of Argentina. Bobby Green will take on the German lightweight fighter, Nasrat Haqparast.
