Many consider Jon Jones the GOAT of MMA. And his upcoming opponent, Stipe Miocic is considered the GOAT of the heavyweight division of the UFC. And to train for the bout, which would be ‘Bones’ first heavyweight title defense, he has invited the BJJ GOAT Gordon Ryan to train for Miocic’s elite grappling.

And if there were not enough GOATs already, Jones commented on a clip of Conor McGregor (the MMA GOAT in terms of popularity). Jones is an admirer of McGregor and has credited the Irishman for moving the popularity of the sport forward by at least ten years. ‘Bones’ was impressed with McGregor’s moves and had some encouraging comments for the Dubliner.

Conor McGregor posted a video of him training ahead of his comeback bout against Michael Chandler in what many expect to be a welterweight bout. Although he was expected to face his rival TUF head coach in a bout originally slated for December, it has been postponed to at least early next year.

In the video, McGregor can be seen working on his striking and boxing with his training partner in the squared circle. Jon Jones took to the comments section of the former two-division champion’s clip and praised ‘Mac,’ writing that the Irishman looked smooth in his training video. “McGregor looking smooth with it,” the UFC heavyweight champion commented. And Jones himself is hard at work to train for what might be his toughest opponent to date.

Jon Jones will face the former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, considered the heavyweight GOAT at UFC 295 in MSG, NY on November 11. After dominating the light heavyweight division for over a decade, he moved up to heavyweight and debuted against Ciryl Gane for the heavyweight championship. He was able to defeat the Frenchman with ease in the first round to capture the title.

And as he looks to defend his title against Miocic, he has enlisted the help of BJJ maestro Gordon Ryan to train for the former champion’s elite wrestling skills. And Jones, it seems, is looking for a submission victory. “Great having King Ryan back in Albuquerque. Brother always comes with the best vibes and knowledge. Ladies and gentleman, do not count out a first round submission.” he wrote on Instagram.
