It’s meant to be grand.
It’s not just new year vibes; 2024 could be the year of great comebacks. It’s all coming together now, as Conor McGregor has finally revealed his big plans for the upcoming year, and with a surprise no less. Israel Adesanya urges fans to keep backing him up

The middleweight division is looking at a potential shakeup. Conor McGregor took the world by storm when he announced that he would be fighting Michael Chandler in June at 185 pounds. This is interesting as neither has fought in the middleweight category, though Chandler admitted to weighing nearly 190 lbs last year (as reported by MMA Junkie).

With the Irishman’s return getting delayed to International Fight Week on June 29th, does Adesanya see a window for himself? He recently uploaded a story on Instagram, asking his fans to have faith in him. “Those who know me and appreciate me. Thank you. Thanks for sticking by me because without you guys I won’t be able to do what I do.

He added, “The ones that are solid, the ones that take inspiration from my stories … practice patience with me. Don’t react. Respond. Let me cook.” The Insta Story featured a clip from an interview he had uploaded in September, after losing his crown to Sean Strickland. To the delight of his fans, the clip had various snippets of The Last Stylebender absolutely demolishing opponents. This timing of the video is no innocent accident.

The former champ seems to have put an end to the rumors that arose after his shock revelation just before the Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou bout in October. Responding to a query whether fans would see him in 2024, he had replied, “2027; look for the return. I’ll see you there.” Is it too soon for his comeback, considering his past responses? Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, here’s one comeback we do know of.

Conor McGregor and his evil laugh

Conor McGregor embraced the new year with a glass of wine and the laugh worthy of a Bond villain as he announced his next fight. UFC 300 won’t be graced by “The Notorious.” Instead, he’ll be taking on Chandler 11 weeks later at the International Fight Week.

Chandler did not hesitate either. He has demanded McGregor at his “biggest” and “baddest.” It’s no secret that Chandler has been aching for this match-up for a while. The question really is, will he end up winning it or give in to McGregor’s psychological warfare tactics? Will the mavericks move at ease in the 185 lb category? 2024 holds a lot of exciting revelations.
