Khamzat Chimaev and Khabib Nurmagomedov‘s team beefed on and off for a while. That was until just after UFC 280 when Islam Makhachev became the rightful champ of the lightweight division. ‘The Eagle’ became very exhausted with all the unnecessary fighting in the camps and called for peace back then.

Keeping their past problems aside, the two decided to shake hands and give each other a warm greeting. The wholesome moment was captured on camera outside of the hotel. It would appear that the peace Khabib Nurmagomedov brokered about a year ago is still intact. Khamzat Chimaev had issues with Team Khabib that came to light at Makhachev’s championship win. Nobody knew things would get exceedingly violent when ‘Borz’ crossed paths with Nurmagomedov’s brother Abubakar.

The two shook hands at first much like Makhachev and Chimaev but later broke into a scuffle by cage side. They had to be separated by security and taken away to break the fight. A day later, Khabib Nurmagomedov put out a statement clearing the air around the fight and calling for peace.

What did Khabib Nurmagomedov say?

‘The Eagle’ had put out a video talking about the whole ordeal. He didn’t want his camp and the Chechen’s side to fight anymore. The video appealed to both the sides and also informed the fans that Team Khabib had already apologized to Chimaev.

“To tell the truth, we’re tired of this nonsense!,” said Nurmagomedov. “Here we are, gathered together as brothers; talked to each other, and we apologized to each other and hugged. Inshallah. I hope that in the future that we will only gather for good reasons and fight for good reasons.”
