UFC star Bryce Mitchell was recently forced to fight a match in UFC 282 against his will! The fight was forced to such an extreme that the fighter had to fight despite his physical condition. Mitchell lost via submission in his fight against Ilia Topuria. The match was hyped greatly, but little did anybody know the backdrop of the same. Mitchell went ahead to list the reasons why he lost.
Starting with the fact that he was suffering from the flu at the time of the fight. This affected his performance very much. UFC fans were not happy with the way Mitchell fought in the match and they seem to have found a reason for it now.

If the 28-year-old fighter was not at his best, why did he feel compelled to fight? He shared his reason to fight in UFC 282 in an interview with ESPN journalist Brett Okamoto.
UFC’s Bryce Mitchell’s compelling situation
The American UFC fighter shared that two interlinked problems made him fight the bout in UFC 282. He did not mention if somebody from Dana White’s UFC forced him. According to him, it was always about the factors that forced him.

While talking about his fight gone wrong, Mitchell was regretful of his performance. He told Okamoto, “Honestly, I had a couple of thousand bucks in my bank account and they told me… ‘if you don’t take this fight, we’re not finding you another one until February’.”

While his economic condition was an important factor, it wasn’t the only one. As Mitchell also went on to mention how he was worried about having no fights until February.
“So you can just live with a couple of thousand bucks in your bank or you can f***ing fight December 10th. I said you know what, I don’t wanna live on a couple of thousand bucks until February,” Mitchell added in his statement to Okamoto.
Absolutely helpless, the 28-year-old fighter considered it his best decision to fight. He went into the Octagon, wanting to win.

Mitchell and his UFC prospect
Although the fight wasn’t good on Mitchell’s part, he still owned up to his mistake. He admitted, while talking to Brett Okamoto, that he was expecting to win the UFC 282 fight. On the contrary, he lost with a bad performance.
“That just wasn’t possible. I wasn’t capable of kicking somebody’s a** that night,” Mitchell added.
UFC fans might see the flyweight fighter make his return after February and hopefully in good health. This news can help some fans empathize with the American athlete.
