Everyone wanted to hear what the former President felt about this PPV, and just hours after the event ended, he posted an Instagram story about UFC 296. As per his short statement, Trump loved the event and gave the credit to UFC CEO Dana White. “Incredible evening in Las Vegas, Nevada with @DanaWhite and great American Patriots”, he wrote in his story.

Many fans wanted to know about Trump’s reaction after seeing his favorite fighter Colby Covington lose. However, we are yet to find that out. Meanwhile, his sudden exit after the main event raised questions about his relationship with Covington.
Trump leaves Covington to fend for himself after UFC 296 loss
Colby Covington showed more during the buildup to the fight than the actual fight. Per Dana White, the now-three-time title challenger looked ‘slow and old’ in the cage against the dynamic Leon Edwards. The champion dominated the challenger almost everywhere for a decisive 49-46 score on all three judges’ scorecards.

During the post-fight speech, a defensive Covington said he thought he had done enough. Further, he spent more words praising Trump than answering Joe Rogan’s questions. Interestingly, the former POTUS could be seen walking out of the arena with his entourage while Covington was singing his praises in the Octagon.

Fans on the internet took notice and have been using the same to take jibes at Covington. Many of them were already cross with him for bringing Edwards’ late father into his trash talk. This incident is just more ammunition for them to troll the former interim champion.
