The heart of a combat athlete will never get old. No matter how frail they may seem on the outside, age cannot get the better of them when it comes to courage and mentality. UFC Hall of Famer and retired fighter Mark Coleman is one of the first few people to make it big in the sport. He was the first UFC Heavyweight champion ever and was the tournament champion at UFC 10 and UFC 11.

A recent video, uploaded by ‘Bloody Elbow’ went viral on Twitter. In that video, a 58-year-old Mark Coleman was seen shadow-boxing, preparing for an upcoming ‘celebrity boxing match’. A few days ago, a transformation video of the former UFC champ went viral. Age had clearly taken its toll on him, but his fighting spirit was still like the day he won his first belt. Reduced to a mere shadow of his former self, Mark Coleman’s recent video disheartening for most people.

Fans found Mark Coleman’s sparring video worrisome. In the video, Coleman was seen throwing hands. To their dismay, Coleman wobbled and almost fell within the first 5 seconds of the video. This was alarming considering boxing can be a dangerous sport.

Concerned for the former champion, fans commented and let their thoughts know. “Bro I love and respect Mark but he literally almost fell over his foot right here wtf“, commented a fan. Soon after a mix bag of comments poured in. Comments like “Man almost blew his knee out 5 seconds into this shit“, “not going to end well“, “Hate to see legends of mma having to resort to this. The canvas nearly took him out” and “Probably could still scrap the regular man easy idk about a fighter” were posted in the comments section. 

Some recognized the fight in him and encouraged him, while others remained skeptical. “Say what you want, but for some people that competitive burn just doesn’t go away. Wish Mark nothing but the best.” said one.”This is worse than bringing Chuck back to fight Tito.” said another.

Mark Coleman Boxing in a ‘Celebrity’ Match – The new trend

Recently, more and more fighters have been coming out of retirement for a few minutes of ring time in a ‘celebrity’ match. Some are doing it for the big money while others are doing it to prove a point. Mark Coleman is the latest name to have decided to step into a boxing ring for a ‘Celebrity Boxing Match’ on 14 October 2023. His opponent hasn’t been announced yet but sources confirmed that he has signed with Celebrity Boxing and will surely be making his debut.
