Most UFC fans might have witnessed the viral video of a teenage Khabib Nurmagomedov wrestling a baby bear. But they might agree that ‘The Eagle’ who took down UFC fighters with ease, had a rather hard time against the bear. However, Nurmagomedov, one of the best wrestlers in the history of the UFC, might have inspired others as well. A recent Instagram reel showcased the touted UFC Middleweight, Bo Nickal, who is also one of the best wrestlers on the current UFC roster, talking about what he could do if he fought a chimpanzee.

Nickal is one of the most highly-rated rising stars in the promotion. He boasts an undefeated record and is gaining a lot of attention for his, at times outrageous, claims. Similar was the case when he discussed potentially fighting a chimpanzee.

Fans predict a different outcome for Bo Nickal vs. chimpanzee

The reel that showcased Bo Nickal talking about this fight appeared on the pages of ‘FTC Boxing’ and ‘Just Bleed’. Initially, it gave out Nickal’s take on what would happen if he fought a chimpanzee. He said, “I think, if it is a small chimpanzee, I’ll wreck. I’ll put him in a guillotine dude”. Nickal also continued, “Me and one other person would wreck a full grown chimpanzee”. Although the voice in the video predicted otherwise.

It opined, “Humans wouldn’t stand a chance” at the conclusive seconds of the video. The video also garnered a massive number of views counting more than 371k to date. However, hardly anyone commenting on it took Nickal’s side. A few of them read:

  • This is the equivalent to Bradly Martin saying he can beat any pro-combative athlete in a street fight.
  • Calling out the wrong species bro…
  • He would get his face peeled off and dismembered…in the first round
  • It seems Bo Nickal has taken too many shots to the head.
  • Time to put this dummy in a cage with a chimp for the number 1 contender spot winner gets izzy

Almost all of the netizens expressed their opinions in favor of the voice in the video that predicted, Nickal “wouldn’t stand a chance”. But, there were a handful of people who thought otherwise.

Is there someone better suited for the task?

As we all know, different people will mostly have different opinions about an issue. A similar instance presented itself in the case of this video. But the fans contradicting the popular opinion were pretty scarce here.

Although some commenters believed that humans could actually get the better of a chimpanzee, they weren’t pretty sure about Nickal being able to do it. Rather, they preferred a bigger and heavier guy to accomplish this task successfully. A few such comments read:

  • Chimps are only 5ft 90-150 pounds. I think an elite fighter can knock one out
  • Francis Ngannou would KO a chimpanzee easy
  • I think mayb Francis and like the big show maybe

It’s apparent why fans would prefer someone like Francis Ngannou or the noted WWE star, ‘The Big Show’ to fight a chimpanzee. The former UFC Heavyweight king is widely considered to be the hardest puncher in the history of the UFC. His KO power might act as a trump card for him against a chimpanzee.

Do you have doubts about Ngannou getting the better of a chimpanzee? What do you think Bo Nickal’s outcome would be?

My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC.
