“Would You Put Your Kids in This Class?” – Jorge Masvidal Bewildered by Coach’s Grueling Method on His Student

UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal shared a video of a sports and fitness instructor using a hardened training method on his students. ‘Gamebred’ hasn’t been seen in action inside the octagon since UFC 272, where he lost to Colby Covington. However, he has maintained an active social media presence. Stepping into the world of combat sports is a very tough and unsettling endeavor. As such, fighters sometimes go to the extreme during their training sessions and sometimes end up injuring themselves. The slightest miscalculation inside the cage could lead to disastrous consequences. Due to injuries, fighters have struggled to reach the Octagon on fight nights.

Jorge Masvidal questions unusual training method

Jorge Masvidal came and shared a video posted by a Facebook user that showed a sports instructor putting his young students through an unusual training method for conditioning. The instructor was seen using a car tire and slamming it on his students’ abdomen while they lay on the floor. Masvidal wrote in his post: “Would you put your kids in this class?”

Jorge Masvidal seems to believe that the coach was trying too hard. We can audibly listen to the students panting in pain. This kind of training method is very common with boxers. This kind of training helps boxers get used to getting hit during bouts and gets them mentally prepared.

Mixed-martial is an intense sport. Fighters are required to train for multiple facets of the game, including grappling and striking with both their fists and their legs. Conditioning is a big part of mixed martial arts. It helps fighters reach their peak physical condition. It includes strength, speed, muscular endurance, explosiveness, and power. However, fighters need to familiarise themselves with the training regimen and try not to overstrain themselves.

Over the years, many fighters have been questioned about their risk management ability during training. The approach to MMA is more eclectic than boxing. Training injuries seem to be the sport’s greatest saboteurs. Many high-profile fighters have injured themselves before big bouts, including Cain Velasquez, Dominick Cruz, Rafael dos Anjos, Khabib Nurmagomedov, and Darren Till, just to name a few.
