Former UFC double champion Daniel Cormier is getting ready to make his debut in Hollywood. One of the most elite fighters to grace the UFC octagon, Daniel Cormier retired from the sport of MMA in 2020, after two consecutive losses against Stipe Miocic.

Since then, the 42-year-old has made a smooth transition to the world of media. Cormier not only has a desk job as a commentator for the UFC but is also a host of his own MMA show on ESPN called ‘DC and RC’.

However, Cormier is now getting ready to star in a spin-off series of the widely popular MMA movie titled ‘Warrior’. This won’t be a minor feature during the TV series. Cormier is going to take on the role of ‘Bobby Watkins’, a character who lives in Houston and is fighting his way out of poverty.

According to Gavin O’ Connor, the director, Daniel Cormier is the first character he has locked in for the show. The series will follow the lives of four different fighters looking to make a name and earn a living for their families.

An overjoyed DC recently took to Twitter to share the exciting news with his fans, making the following statement, “DC going to Hollywood baby!!! For all the support you guys have given me, makes opportunities like this possible. This is only the beginning, hopefully. Thank you.”  

Daniel Cormier serves as a splendid example for all fighters in combat sports. Once done with his fighting career, Cormier has given his time to multiple ventures, further capitalizing on his name as a fighter to move on to the next phase in his life.

Daniel Cormier made his UFC debut back in April 2013, with a record of 8-0 coming from the heavyweight division in Strikeforce. Following which Cormier became one of the biggest stars in the sport. His rivalry with Jon Jones will go down as one of the most infamous rivalries in the sport.

Furthermore, Daniel Cormier is part of an elite group of fighters who were not only able to become champions in two divisions simultaneously, but also defend both belts.
