Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has always been known to be one of the most humble fighters to grace the octagon. ‘The Eagle’ built up a large fanbase in the organization for his humility and affable nature. Chiefly, it didn’t hurt that he was a relentlessly dominant force against all his opponents inside the octagon as well.

In a video that’s been making the rounds on social media, Khabib Nurmagomedov displayed his humility for everyone to witness. During a sit-down style interview, he was asked about what his alternate career path would have been had he not been a fighter. Nurmagomedov’s response perfectly encapsulated why the MMA community reveres him for his humble outlook on life.

“I think I just, just regular person from village and sells some potatoes, tomatoes, something like this because I remember when I was kid like 6, 7, like 8 we was living in village and we have some small farm and I remember on highway I was selling like some tomatoes.”

“It was very good tomatoes. Not like right now, I can feel even If I don’t touch, when I see tomatoes, I understand.”

Nurmagomedov’s sentiment that he can still feel the tomatoes he used to sell is a viable representation of his humility. Despite being a global superstar, he never forgot his roots and always harkens back to the simpler times in his life.

Khabib Nurmagomedov gears up for a career in fight promotion

While Nurmagomedov may still recall the early days of his life and career, his current schedule is far from laid back and relaxed. He is now a fully-fledged fight promoter, and he is keen to scale up his MMA organization, Eagle FC.

Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC has acquired some marquee talent and they are continuing to push the boundaries often. Kevin Lee is one such name that the company signed and Eagle FC is already looking at new ways to stand apart.
