WOW! Khabib Nurmagomedov Sends a Massive Shout-Out to Soccer Icon Cristiano Ronaldo

UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov took to social media and gave a shout-out to Portuguese soccer icon Cristiano Ronaldo. ‘The Eagle’ made sure to show his appreciation for Ronaldo, who is arguably one of the biggest athletic personalities of all time. Furthermore, Nurmagomedov is a massive soccer fan and has been involved in the sport more as of late.

The Russian fighter has spent a good portion of his retirement playing field soccer/football and heading out to matches. He recently received a signed jersey from Paris St-Germain star forward Kylian Mbappe and posted the same online. Khabib Nurmagomedov’s love for the sport of soccer is constantly on display, and Cristiano Ronaldo is clearly an inspiration to him.

A star-studded UFC legacy: Khabib Nurmagomedov

Soccer aside, the mauler out of Dagestan ascended to the heights that he did due to his affinity for cage fighting. Nurmagomedov reached the pinnacle of the sport and is the top-ranked P4P fighter in the UFC. With a 29-0 undefeated professional record, it’s hard to argue against his greatness under the bright lights.

Khabib Nurmagomedov decided to retire after his 29 pro victory at UFC 254 against interim champion Justin Gaethje. ‘The Eagle’ secured the tap after some dominant groundwork and immediately shocked fans with his intentions in the post-fight speech. Despite showing no signs of a return, his comeback to the sport is a frequently mentioned subject in MMA.

Nurmagomedov certainly has no shortage of opponents who come in as viable options to fight. Veterans like Dustin Poirier and newer contenders like Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler have all made a stand to fight the Dagestani mauler. However, ‘The Eagle’ has been rather steadfast in his retirement thus far and has moved on to other endeavors.

Chiefly, he’s been on a roll after taking on the role of a Coach for other talented Dagestani fighters. Khabib Nurmagomedov has cornered fighters like Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov to great success in the last few months. It seems as though he’s content to let the other 155-pounders figure out what’s next for the division.
