The leader of the Nick Diaz army has been speculated to make his return for a while now. In an interview with Ariel Helwani back in 2019, Nick Diaz showed his interest in fighting again. But because of the spread of coronavirus, fans were banned from events, and the fighters were forced to go through certain formalities before every bout. Therefore, Diaz took his feet off the accelerator and kept his return on hold. Now, as the world has started to function as before, the Stockton native has verbally agreed to make a comeback.
In a recent tweet, he wrote “Built To Last,” and showed off his physique in front of the camera. Diaz looks ready to make his return, as he has been training hard in the gym. He looks to be in tremendous shape and seems motivated to do what he is loved for.

Watch this story: 5 unknown facts about the UFC president Dana White,
Hardcore MMA fans will remember his amazing career where he fought and won 26 fights and lost 9 only to the elites like Georges St-Pierre, Carlos Condit, and more. People love the Diaz brothers because every Diaz fight is a war as they enter the octagon with a mentality to kill or be killed.
The best potential opponent for Nick Diaz
Tony Ferguson was on a twelve-fight winning streak as he haunted the 155 lbs division from 2013 to 2019. But time gets to even the very best. The 37-year-old has not been performing at the same level as he used to. Once a threat to the retired former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ferguson has now failed to get a win in his last three bouts.
Even after losing, Ferguson still has the heart and desire of a warrior and has refused to stop. ‘El Cucuy’ deserves a big fight in the final phase of his career. Therefore, the UFC should make him fight a veteran like Nick Diaz.

Although Tony Ferguson is a Lightweight, he has fought as a Welterweight while he was competing in The Ultimate Fighter 13. Welterweight is the ideal weight class for Nick Diaz because he has never competed below the Welterweight limit in his UFC career.
Tony Ferguson’s fighting mentality resembles Diaz’s in a lot of ways. Both are fan favorites as they never fail to put on a show. Both like to stand and trade but still have an ideal ground game. Also, they are both 37 years old. This fight has all the ingredients of an old-school hardcore showdown. Putting Nick Diaz against a young opponent seems highly unlikely because he hasn’t fought since 2015, so Ferguson is the only opponent who makes sense.
