Dana White’s latest venture has caught the attention of the UFC’s biggest star to date. Conor McGregor recently tweeted out his excitement and support for the upcoming Power Slap League. Earlier this year White got approval from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his venture into slap-fighting competitions. With the event scheduled to kick off early next year, the promotions have already begun. Now, it has piqued the interest of Conor McGregor, who had a few things to say about the upcoming event.

The promo for the Power Slap League aired during UFC Vegas 66 and ‘The Notorious’ tweeted his curiosity about the event moments later.
Conor McGregor comments on the Power Slap League
Conor McGregor stated that the power slap championships were growing on him. The Irishman also pointed out how people enjoy “watching good quality clatters.” With a huge celebrity like McGregor chiming in with such a remark, Power Slap should receive quite some mileage before it kicks off.
‘Mystic Mac’ also expressed a keen interest in the rule set of the competition. An inquisitive McGregor posed a few basic questions regarding the toss and recovery time and what would count as a finish. The 34-year-old also stated that he would be attending one of those events.
He also gave a shout-out to Dana White, saying, “Wtf is this madness Dana hahaha. I’m in.”
McGregor also took a sly dig at rival Nate Diaz while discussing the Power Slap League.
McGregor fires at Nate Diaz during Power Slap conversation
Nate Diaz is infamous for his tendency to ‘slap’ people around. The former UFC welterweight uses his ‘Stockton Slap’ both inside and outside the cage. Now that slap fighting is becoming a legit competition, Conor McGregor had a suggestion for his longtime rival.

McGregor tweeted saying that he should fight Diaz for the Power Slap title. The Irishman belittled his nemesis, saying that the Power Slap title is one that Diaz could actually win.
Diaz is yet to respond to McGregor’s comments. Knowing the history between the two, don’t be surprised to see another entertaining war of words on Twitter.
