In the same episode, Rousey stumbled upon a memory of her younger self running away from home. ‘The Rowdy One’ blames several reasons for her running away from home.

When did Rousey run away?

While conversing about a totally different topic, Rousey mentioned how it wasn’t until she ran away from home that she stopped crying at night. The curious 55-year-old commentator went ahead to ask ‘Rowdy’ about the same.

Ronda Rousey mentioned that she ran away at the age of 18. The reason why it wouldn’t be considered ‘moving out’ is that nobody knew about her plan as she left her home at night.

What was the reason behind such harsh measures?

Rousey remembers every detail, about why she left, vividly. She recalls how her life decisions were always controlled by the people around her. This prepped up a frustrated teen Ronda Rousey to pack her bags and leave.

She told Rogan, “I felt my life was out of my control, so I left, and I was like, I’m gonna win and I’m gonna do all this stuff on my own.

The now-WWE fighter also mentioned that she had a “Rapunzel-in-the-castle syndrome”. Due to this, she didn’t realize as a teen, how brilliant of a mother she had.

Upon remembering this detail, Rousey appeared to be utterly disappointed in her younger self for antagonizing her own mother back then.

The hardships faced by Rousey

All UFC stars are widely known for their stories of struggle. One such example is Ronda ‘The Rowdy’ Rousey herself. At the time when she was new to being an independent teen, she faced many hardships. She recalls not being respected enough for her part.

Rousey didn’t receive a judo coach when she won the bronze medal in Olympics in 2008 and still became the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in judo. She mentioned that she never used to go to school dances or dates. Rousey even dropped out of school in sophomore year to train full time.
