Dana White and Vince McMahon stand as two of the most influential figures in the sports industry, and they share more similarities than most realize. While Vince revolutionized WWE, Dana turned the UFC into a household name.  Also, both business moguls didn’t just build their empires from behind the scenes; they became stars in front of the camera, too. But the question remains: Who’s actually better? Well, Ronda Rousey might just have your answer.

After an illustrious MMA career, ‘Rowdy’ retired from the UFC following her loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 in 2016. Two years later, she found a new home in WWE, making her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34. Then, in 2023, Rousey bid farewell to professional wrestling as well. That makes her one of the rare few, alongside Brock Lesnar, who have worked under both Dana and Vince. And since she’s experienced life under both companies, it seems she has a favorite. 

Ronda Rousey snubs Vince McMahon to pick Dana White as her favorite boss  

Ronda told Bert Kreischer at the Bertcast episode # 700, “Dana White wants his company to be as successful as possible. Make as much money as possible, because I think he has got a lot to prove in that space. He’s got like that new money kind of like veneer of he wants to earn his respect in that space, like all of his peers.  

Clearly, ‘Rowdy’ had nothing but praise for the UFC CEO, crediting Dana White for being highly diligent and sharp when it comes to business. Even after her retirement from the UFC, Rousey has maintained a strong relationship with the head honcho over the years. However, that same level of respect doesn’t seem to extend to Vince McMahon, as the former UFC and WWE star didn’t hold back her words when talking about the WWE boss.

Rousey added at the Bertcast podcast, “And Vince, didn’t really care about how successful the company is or how much money he was making. He cared about how much influence he had on other people culturally. And he was trying to impress his viewpoint of the world on everybody else through that. The bottom line be damned.”   

In response, comedian Bert Kreischer asked Ronda who her favorite was, and she didn’t hesitate, settling her pick with one line, “I mean, I’m a capitalist, so Dana.” For many, her choosing the UFC head honcho over the WWE boss might come as a surprise. But the former bantamweight champion has already made her feelings about McMahon clear in her memoir Our Fight, where she spoke at length about her true thoughts on the WWE boss.

But, while Ronda Rousey has shared plenty of positive remarks about Dana White and the UFC in general, she seems to hold an even stronger resentment and anger toward the MMA fan base.

‘Rowdy’ slams the MMA fan base  

When it comes to passion, MMA fans might top the list in all of sports. But sometimes, they can get a little too vocal with their opinions about both current and former champions—and it doesn’t always sit well with the fighters. This time, Ronda Rousey went off on UFC fans for demeaning their legends, something she believes WWE fans never do.

Continuing her interview on the Bertcast, Rousey said, “You look at WWE, and they have such a reverence for their legends. In MMA, the second you’re not on top, you’re not s—t, and you never were s—t. Chuck Liddell—when he’s on top, ‘He’s the best, he’s the best.’ The second he loses, it’s, ‘Oh, Chuck Liddell ain’t s—t, he never was s—t.’” 

Well, ‘Rowdy’ shared the same thoughts about other legends like Anderson Silva, too. However, she also explained why MMA fans don’t treat Khabib Nurmagomedov the same way. According to Rousey, it’s because he retired undefeated before ever reaching his limit.

She added, “I think the only reason MMA fans have their lips so firmly planted at the base of Khabib’s c–k is because he retired before he reached his limit. If he kept fighting until he reached his limit, everybody would be saying, ‘Khabib ain’t s—t, he never was s—t.’”
