Dr. David Abbasi gave a medical breakdown on Rodriguez’s injury on YouTube. According to him, capillaries on his foot might have burst because of repetitive trauma. He said, “Yair Rodriguez was doing repetitive kicks, so that would be a reason to rupture or you know, damage some of those capillaries.”

He explained that most fighters use their metatarsal, and cuneiform bones to kick. Hence, those bones can fracture, contuse, or experience bruising or swelling. X-rays and MRIs might be required to know if his bones are actually broken.

While Rodriguez might have lost the bout against Holloway, his performance and dedication have left the audience stunned. He surely will have some great fights coming up in the future. Till then, fans wish for his speedy recovery.
