Does the UFC have anything against the kind of publicity that Sean Strickland brings to the company? At least, that’s what the American fighter believed until now. The former UFC middleweight champion has often referred to the delays in his rematch for the belt and the decisions against him in several of his fights. As per Tarzan, the UFC intended to put him aside and instead promote other fighters.

However, it seems like he has finally gotten the push that he wanted. UFC CEO Dana White has booked a fight between Tarzan and the current UFC middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis. But while Strickland has already signed the contract and is all geared up for the fight, it seems like Stillknocks is holding him back. At least that’s what the challenger claims.

Tarzan earlier revealed the fight’s confirmation by telling the world that he had put the pen on paper for the much-awaited bout. However, Du Plessis has yet to confirm a date for the fight. “We got it booked, now we’re waiting on Dricus deciding when he wants to lose.” And it seems like Tarzan is firm in his verdict that the South African is losing the fight.

He took to the comment section of an Instagram post that talked about the fight getting booked and confirmed the news by writing how he would be the one to emerge victorious while taking a racial jibe at Stillknocks. He wrote, “Yall heard Dana say it…. lol!!! Just waiting on when the Dutch man wants to lose” For the unaware, Strickland is referring to a recent Dana White interview with The Jim Rome Show where he revealed that the American would be granted the title shot since he is the number one ranked middleweight in the world.

As for Strickland calling DDP a Dutchman, that is related to the fact that the middleweight champion is Afrikaans and has Dutch and French ancestry. However, as we all know, Du Plessis considers himself a South African through and through, and that is his true nationality. However, this isn’t the first time that the challenger has called the 30-year-old a Dutchman. He also questioned his ancestry when he initially sprang the idea of a title challenge after the champion emerged victorious at UFC 305.

When Sean Strickland challenged Dricus du Plessis

Right after Du Plessis won his fight at UFC 305, Sean Strickland took aim at the South African by reminding him that he would be the next challenger he faced in the Octagon. Challenging the middleweight champion’s lineage, Tarzan wrote a tweet that truly declared war between the two middleweights. As he wrote, “Time for war Dutch man……” This was yet another shot at Stillknocks’ ancestry.

In their previous encounter, Tarzan lost the 185-pound belt to Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 297. A split decision win that left Strickland unsatisfied, as he was confident that he had won the match. However, the former middleweight champion still managed to remain in title contention by winning his fight against Paulo Costa. Now, fans would surely want a rematch between Tarzan and Stillknocks for the middleweight belt. What do you think? Who will win the fight? Let us know in the comments.
