Yancy Medeiros Re-Booked to Fight Damir Hadzovic at UFC Fight Night on June 26

News broken out by MMA Junkie claims a reschedule of the fight between Yancy Medeiros and Damir Hadzovic in the UFC. Yancy Medeiros is an American fighter with a record of 15 victories and 7 defeats to his name. It has been more than a year since ‘The Kid’ entered the octagon for a fight. He fought his last fight against Lando Vannata where Medeiros lost by unanimous decision.

On the other hand, his opponent Damir Hadzovic has also remained inactive for more than a year. ‘The Bosnian Bomber’ owns 13 wins and 6 losses to his resume. The duo is re-booked for a fight at UFC Fight Night on June 26.

The fight is supposed to be a Lightweight showdown which will be fought at UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. Both the Lightweights desperately need to get on the winning column as Medeiros is on a three-fight losing streak whereas his opponent Hadzovic has suffered two back-to-back defeats.

Why the fight between Yancy Medeiros and Damir Hadzovic got rescheduled?

The first fight was booked at UFC Fight Night: Font vs Garbrandt on May 22. The bout was canceled as Hadzovic fell ill before his fight. The card will also showcase a mega main event in the form of Ciryl Gane versus Alexander Volkov. This is a heavyweight clash between two high-level performers. Gane remains an unsolved puzzle with an undefeated record of 8 wins. Whereas, Volkov is looking for a climb to the top spot in the UFC Heavyweight rankings. It is a crucial contest for the duo in order to get their first title shot.

Another fight that has been listed on the official site of the UFC is Tim Elliott vs Su Mudaerji. This is a Flyweight bout set to feature in the main card. The third officially listed fight is the bout between Renato Moicano and Jai Herbert. The fight will get contested in the prelims section of the event.
