Back in December 2021, Chael Sonnen was allegedly involved in a scuffle at the Las Vegas Hotel. Fortunately, the fighter was not taken into police custody. However, the supposed victims filed a lawsuit against Sonnen and charged him with 10 misdemeanor counts of battery and one felony charge of battery by strangulation. Months later, an employee of the Four Seasons Hotel, where the alleged incident went down, also filed a lawsuit against Sonnen.

The prosecutors dropped four of the charges after a year. In a further amendment, the felony charge was also dropped along with two more misdemeanor charges. But now, the three-time UFC title challenger can finally breathe a sigh of relief, thanks to the recent verdict.

Chael Sonnen is finally free of all charges

Around two years ago, the West Lynn gangster faced some legal trouble. He was accused of battery at the Four Seasons Hotel and faced two different lawsuits regarding the same.

Thankfully for the former mixed martial artist, all the criminal charges have now been dropped, following a recent plea of no contest. However, Sonnen was asked to pay a fine of $750. Surprisingly, the former UFC and Bellator star didn’t even appear in court and his attorney declined to provide any further comments.

Even though the police arrived at the scene soon after the incident, Sonnen wasn’t arrested. However, the supposed victims filed a civil complaint against the fighter in March 2022. But they could present no evidence against him, which led to his attorney pleading for all charges to be dropped.

Although half of the charges were subsequently dropped, a former Four Seasons employee pressed some fresh charges last year in December. The hearing for the case happened yesterday, and the verdict cleared Sonnen’s name.

How did Sonnen land in so much trouble?

In December, two years ago, Christopher and Julie Stellpflug accused Sonnen of attacking several people at a hotel in Las Vegas. They claimed that Sonnen, while under the influence of alcohol, knocked out a glass from Christopher Stellpflug’s hands and assaulted him. He was also accused of punching Julie. Both of them supposedly received concussions. They also claimed that Sonnen assaulted another guest and a few security guards who arrived at the scene.

Later, Joshua Olds, the Four Seasons employee, filed a civil complaint against the former fighter. He claimed Sonnen connected his fist with his jaw. Nevertheless, Sonnen is now free from all criminal charges.
