Explaining his reactions, Anik, who appeared on an episode of DC & RC, said, “Well, it’s amazing that people actually think we’re like playing up to the camera. I mean, … do they understand our proximity to what is happening and the results that actually are happening, that that result in these type of reactions with Rose Namajunas and everything else right.”

He revealed, “It’s a tiny little camera right in front of Joe Rogan. It’s complete pandemonium. This is the most crazy, unpredictable theater in all of live sports and yeah, I mean, I guess for me, obviously as the play-by-play guy like, when I first started working with Joe Rogan, it’s like ‘you ain’t trying to step on Joe Rogan’ right as the new guy. But I am charged with providing the historical context for these championship moments.”

The reactions of the commentators are so unique because before being journalists they are fans who have tapped into their love and passion for the sport to get to their spots behind the booth at octagon side.
Cormier touched on this and said, “Like you said, we are not playing it up. But the one thing that I don’t believe people know, Ryan, is we are fans of the game. Like we love this. Like every one of us, absolutely love being in there. So when you look at our reactions, look at the people behind us. They’re doing the same thing.”
