Jared Gordon is currently one of the most talked about fighters in the UFC. Gordon is all set to take on the noted UFC Lightweight, Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett on 11 December at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas. His opponent, Pimblett has already made a reputation as one of the best talkers in the sport, which sometimes turns rash as well. But, ‘Flash’ isn’t apparently a supporter of the trash-talking side of MMA. In a recent interview, Gordon threw some stern words toward the no-holds-barred trash talkers in the UFC including the star of the sport, Conor McGregor.

‘Flash’ also laid stresses how a person’s behavior bears proof of what he has been through in life. He also mentioned that he understands the trash-talking part of the sport. But, there should obviously be limits to it.
Jared Gordon said trash-talking like Conor McGregor can get someone killed
Gordon stressed how there should be some ‘don’ts’ in trash-talking. He also pulled up the example of ‘Mystic Mac’ in order to explain his opinion. ‘Flash’ had often been vocal about his own demons eating up a lot of himself. He had been through a lot in his life including drug addiction and imprisonment, one of which could even lead him to a 25-year sentence.

Gordon stated, “You can tell Conor’s never really been in jail. You can tell”. He also presented his experience in favor of his statement about McGregor. “You can just tell by the way he talks and by the way some other guys talk”, Flash opinionated. He went on, “It’s like I can tell you’ve never been certain places because if you were in certain places, you would hold yourself in a different way, carry yourself in a different way”.

Gordon also talked about his experiences that there were some places where trash-talking like McGregor would result in, “someone trying to hurt you” or “someone trying to kill you”.
Jared Gordon implied that a stint in jail could be lethal for Conor McGregor
Gordon had some more to say from his experiences. He stated, “In jail, if you call someone a b**** or tell them to suck your [d***], those are killing words”. It’s pertinent to note that McGregor often took to ruthless trash-talking in pre-fight build-ups. This statement from Gordon was very much in alignment which his previous words about McGregor never being in a lockup. He evidently implied that McGregor’s trash-talk in jail could’ve easily got him killed.

He also expressed his disgust towards over-the-limit trash-talking in MMA saying, “When I hear certain things, we’re not gangsters. We’re all professional athletes. We’re on the main stage, we’re in the UFC.”

There are a lot others like Gordon as well, who are trying to turn the sport of MMA into a more respectable one. As per ‘Flash’, applying a check on words even while trash-talking can definitely make the sport a lot better.
