Joe Rogan was discussing about this match on his podcast with NFL quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. The UFC commentator was explaining to Rodgers and how technically sound Edwards is during a fight.

Greatest Head-kick of all time

Rogan said, “That’s the thing about Leon, he’s so technical. The way he does things, it’s so smooth and so efficient. It wasn’t shocking that he could do that, but it was shocking in the context of his performance up until that moment.”

Rogan described the set-up of Leon’s kick. The comedian talked about Usman’s method of parrying away the punches and how the Brit took an advantage of it to deliver the kick.

Leon Edward’s Head-kick vs Holly Holm’s Head-kick

The podcaster drew a comparison between Holly Holm’s head kick to Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 to Leon’s. He explained how Holm’s kick was great but she was winning the fight compared to Edwards who was losing the bout three rounds to one.

Leon Edwards became an inspiration to many after his victory over Kamaru Usman. The champ has had a rough journey to the title. Covid canceled fights, visa issues, and a 9-fight win streak is what it took for him to finally get a title shot.
