Carlos Ulberg defeated Ihor Potieria in their light heavyweight bout at UFC Charlotte. The New Zealand native wasted little time as he shut off Potieria’s lights in the very first round. With the win, Israel Adesanya‘s CKB teammate Ulberg has improved to 4-1 in the UFC.

32-year-old Carlos Ulberg is one of the most promising light heavyweights on the roster. ‘Black Jag’ made it to the UFC from the Contender Series. Although he lost his debut fight, Ulberg has now won all four of the next fights, finishing three of those inside the opening round.

Carlos Ulberg never looked threatened at any point during the fight. He successfully kept Potieria away as the Ukrainian shot for a takedown early in the round. Later, as he came charging in, Ulberg caught him with a cheeky left hook that sent his opponent face first into the canvas.

Ulberg proceeded to unleash some vicious ground and pound waiting for the referee to step in. Once it looked like it was done, the 32-year-old called the fight himself and walked away. This was another odd refereeing moment from an eventful night at UFC Charlotte.
