Francis Ngannou is preparing to defend his heavyweight title for the first time at UFC 270. ‘The Predator’ won the title earlier this year at UFC 260. The Cameroonian fighter will defend his title against the interim heavyweight champion Ciryl Gane.

However, the UFC heavyweight champion only has one fight left on his contract, and there is uncertainty regarding the UFC resigning him. The UFC President Dana White, in a recent interview with ESPN MMA’s Brett Okamoto, touched upon this topic. He said, “These things happen sometimes. You don’t always come to terms with people. When you are a fighter, we just had this conversation a minute ago. You got to be careful who you get to represent you because that’s what they do. I don’t think he’s had the best representation.”

“I don’t know if you guys remember. When we were over, I think we were in Abu Dhabi or wherever we were. If you want to be with us, love to have you. You don’t want to be with us, no problem. All good.”

When asked about what happens if Ngannou wins his fight against Gane. White said, “So I think his contract, and this is off the top of my head, I don’t know. His contract, he still has time with us after this fight on his contract. So, he’ll probably have one more fight.”

Where can Francis Ngannou land up next?

Francis Ngannou is one of the scariest and popular fighters in the world. He is one of the hardest hitters in MMA and has shown his one-punch knockout ability multiple times during his time in the UFC. With his contract with the UFC coming to an end, all the other MMA promotions will be on the lookout. If the UFC decides not to renew his contract, Bellator, One Championship and even Eagle FC are an option for him.

The Predator‘ has also shown interest in switching over to boxing in the future. The kind of punching power and standup game he has, it won’t be very difficult for him to transition over to boxing. In an interview with Ariel Helwani earlier this year, he said, “I’m gonna go to that boxing, that’s for sure.”
