The UFC 289 PPV truly lived up to its potential in every way! In the co-main event, Charles Oliveira returned to winning ways after securing a first-round TKO victory over Beneil Dariush. In the main event, Amanda Nunes defeated Irene Aldana in one of the most dominant performances of her career. Moreover, UFC’s only current double champion also announced her retirement.
However, the thrilling fights weren’t the only memorable moments of the night. Just as Mike Malott made his way to the Octagon to face Adam Fugitt, the barricade behind him unexpectedly broke. This unforeseen incident took place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, leaving some fans and UFC commentator Megan Olivi injured. After the fight, UFC president Dana White shared some interesting remarks about it.
