After Krause’s controversy came to light, UFC stated that any athlete who opted to continue training in Krause’s gym or under his guidance would not be allowed to compete at UFC events. Joe Rogan was not very happy with this decision. In JRE MMA 136, Rogan said to his gueat Jamahal Hill, “If you can’t gamble, what difference does it make where you are training,” said Rogan. The podcaster was highlighting the fact that UFC had recently made gambling illegal for fighters, their coaches, and close relatives.

Popular names like Brandon Moreno, Grant Dawson, Tim Elliot, and Megan Anderson have all been coached by Krause. According to Rogan, UFC’s decision to ban any association with Krause is unfair to the fighters who are under his coaching. “That doesn’t make any sense! Why you telling them they can’t train with his camp?”, Rogan said, as he did not look very pleased with UFC’s decision.

On November 5, 2022, at UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos, the entire controversy started. One of Krause‘s students, Darrick Minner, fought Shayilan Nuerdanbieke at the event. Authorities noticed uncommon betting odds before the fight and informed the UFC about it. From that point on, things went downhill for Krause. UFC revoked his license and informed him that it would stay that way until the inquiry was over. Recently, Krause sold his gym named Glory MMA & Fitness.
