Joe Rogan and his podcast have been ruling the Podcast ecosystem. Spotify revealed the most popular podcasts on its platform for 2021 — with the controversial talk show ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ taking the No. 1 slot globally. The 55-year-old has now taken shots at Meghan Markle in the podcast wars.

Joe Rogan played host to Neal Brennan in Episode 1898 of JRE. He talked about how a lot of celebrities got into podcasts but couldn’t continue. Rogan took a direct shot at Meghan Markle.

Meghan Markle started her podcast called ‘Archetypes’. She took a great opening as her episode with Serena Williams went topping the charts. It briefly replaced Joe Rogan’s JRE from the top spot in August 2022. Rogan, however, reclaimed his spot at no.1.
Joe Rogan says celebrities can’t keep up
Rogan didn’t look too impressed with his fellow celebrity podcasters. Rogan said, “That’s why a lot of these celebrities that start these things they can’t keep up, they bail, you know like the Meghan Markles and the f******—I guess she’s doing it now—but Prince Harry was doing one for a while. But Bruce [Springsteen]. And Obama was doing one for a while. Terrible.”

The UFC Presenter’s podcast has been collecting a lot of awards since it was started in 2009. JRE labels include Main, MMA show, and Fight Companion. The show goes on for lengths of 1 to 3 hours. Guests are invited from a wide range of professions. Rogan said that listeners get a sense of their favorite podcasters. He said, “You just can’t keep faking it”.

The UFC commentator was of the opinion that one can’t keep faking it while podcasting. This is because viewers get a sense of who the podcaster is. Rogan has been extremely regular with his podcasts. It has only added to his credibility.

Rogan has been the undisputed king of the podcast world for a while now. A lot of celebrities have boarded the Podcast bandwagon, but not a lot of them have succeeded. Rogan may or may not be right in his opinions about celebrities getting into the podcast scene, but it is still to be seen if someone will dethrone him in the near future.
