Khabib Nurmagomedov and Javier Mendez share a great relationship with one another. Nurmagomedov constantly trains with Javier Mendez at the AKA gym in San Jose, California. ‘The Eagle’ is now retired and is himself a coach and is often seen pushing members of the AKA gym.

Now in a recently released video, we can see Nurmagomedov having a fun banter with coach Mendez. The following conversation starts after Mendez while making a video tells Nurmagomedov, “This guy says you guys don’t listen to me.”

What follows is an epic conversation between ‘The Eagle’ and Mendez.

Nurmagomedov, “They have to listen to you but when you come to the Gym when you show an example by yourself, this is something different.” Mendez, “oh, So I need to show them what’s it all about.”

Nurmagomedov continues, “Of course, by yourself or show something, yes teach these guys.” Mendez, “But I have a brain.” Nurmagomedov, “Oh, you have a very good brain.”

Mendez, “Technique horrible, I am lazy, back hurt.”

Nurmagomedov, “You understand my message or not?”

Mendez, “Yes – I should be like you, show an example, teach these guys.”

Nurmagomedov, “Come inside the Gym and work with us, coach. You just filming drinking coffee, this is not a good idea. No, no sweat, no sweat, look at this coach, no sweat.”

Mendez, “There’s a little bit”

Nurmagomedov, “Please come and train with us coach, look all of these people everybody works hard coach, except you.”

This conversation is just another proof of how great a relationship Mendez and Nurmagomedov have with each other. When ‘The Eagle’ fought under Mendez’s guidance, the pair never lost a fight and were always respectful towards one another.

Therefore, it is great to see that even after ‘The Eagle’ has stopped fighting, there has been no change in their relationship. Nurmagomedov has often talked about how he would love to do more coaching now that he is retired and Javier Mendez is going to be with him through that journey.
