In his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Garry said,” Now I signed to the UFC. I’m with the best gym on the planet. I have a lot to learn. I’m 23 years of age. We’re gonna be a world champion. We are taking over the division. Joe, a wise Irish man, once said before me. He stepped in this very cage, and he said, we’re not here to take part. We’re here to take over. And this is the take over part-two.”
Ian Garry said this in reference to his fellow Irishman and UFC legend, Conor McGregor. ‘The Notorious’ had said a similar line after a win at a UFC event in Dublin.
