In turn, ‘Triple C’ also ended up complimenting Alexander Volkanovski. However, he also slipped in a verbal barb to Volkanovski, labeling him as a downgraded version of Matt Serra.

Despite being retired, Henry Cejudo doesn’t fail to capture the attention of fans and media members with his flashy statements. ‘Triple C’ has been on fire lately as he’s relentlessly been trolling some of the top names in the UFC. Apart from Alexander ‘The Great’, he has fired shots at UFC President Dana White and Conor McGregor.

Henry Cejudo vs Alexander Volkanovski beef: How did we get here?

Alexander Volkanovski was recently slated to face off against Max Holloway for their trilogy fight, however, the fight fell out. After Holloway stepped aside, several marquee featherweight contenders like Chan Sung Jung and Giga Chikadze threw their name in the ring to fight Volkanovski.

Another such athlete who volunteered to step in was retired ‘champ-champ’ and Olympian, Henry Cejudo.

However, the UFC brass decided to go in another direction and ended up booking ‘The Korean Zombie’ instead. Cejudo was left out in the cold and has since been firing shots at both Dana White and Alexander Volkanovski.

According to White, Cejudo would need to return to bantamweight and recapture that title in order to fight Volkanovski. As it stands, it remains to be seen if Henry Cejudo will truly commit to making a comeback of such a lofty magnitude. Reclaiming his title in the bantamweight division alone will be a monstrous feat.
