The UFC welterweight fighter Colby Covington expressed his interest in moving to WWE in an interview while taking a shot at the other wrestling promotion AEW.

‘Chaos’, in his second attempt to lay his hands on the UFC welterweight, gold faced a defeat against the Nigerian champion Kamaru Usman last weekend. While both the fighters put up an amazing performance inside the cage, the Miami native stunned UFC fans by using Kurt Angle’s theme song for his walkout.

Following his loss at UFC 268, Covington appeared in a post-fight press conference where he was asked about his former team American top team doing stuff in AEW. However, ‘Chaos’ seemed disinterested in them and hinted at a move to WWE.

He said, “I don’t pay attention to anything those losers do, you know. I am focused on putting the biggest and best fights in the world. You might see me at WWE one day, but you know I don’t think you’re gonna see me in a second-tier promotion like AEW.”

However, this is not the only time Covington has shared his interest in competing in WWE. But nothing has been official yet. We might see the former interim welterweight champion in WWE in the coming future. Meanwhile, he is aiming for 170lbs gold yet again.

What Lies Next for Colby Covington in the UFC

‘Chaos’ has faced a setback twice against ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ in the quest to earn the welterweight gold title. However, he still remains one of the best fighters in the division. Even the UFC president Dana White claimed in the post-fight press conference that Covington could have been the champion if not for Kamaru Usman.

The 16-3 professional record holder is now 1-2 since his first clash with Usman. Covington is now hinting at a clash with his friend turned bitter rival Jorge Masvidal next.

Both the men have taken a lot of verbal shots at each other in many interviews. Their rivalry is one of the most heated rivalries in the UFC. and fans would love to see them settle their beef inside the octagon.

Furthermore, ‘Chaos’ hates ‘Gamebred’ so much that he claimed to end his UFC career if he loses in his next fight. In the post-fight interview, he said, “If he goes ahead with that Leon Scott fight, then Hunter Campbell, I just pray to you, please don’t cut him after that third loss in a row. Save him around. Let me be the one that ends his career.”
