The UFC conducted the highly anticipated pre-fight presser between the duo, but sadly, according to many fans, it failed to deliver. The MMA community expected fireworks, but what they got was just childish unintelligible banter from both fighters.

The art of trash-talking has only been mastered by a few but tried by many. Despite trying it, it seemed like both Covington & Masvidal weren’t able to pull it off as they constantly berated one another without ever giving each other a chance to speak. This definitely made things dull for the fans who took to Twitter to address their issues with the event.

Disappointed fans took to Twitter to vent out their frustrations with UFC 272 presser
Prominent MMA journalist, Luke Thomas, called the presser between Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal, “quite poor.”
If you think of MMA press conferences as episodic entertainment, the reviews of the latest presser for UFC 272 are quite poor from what I can gather.

UFC has become a premier organization for mixed martial arts and certainly, press conferences like these hurt the sport instead of helping its growth. It will only leave a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth, including newer fans. One fan seemingly conveyed this message in his tweet.

It’s press conferences like that which will guarantee UFC is always a fringe sport. Makes me sad bc I love watching mma but you never see NBA or NFLers carry on like that to the press. Hockey, I don’t know. Never seen a hockey game? Match?… dance? Idk

I enjoyed it for the fact it was so cringe, but man Colby is trying way too hard nowadays.

This isn’t the first major rivalry of the promotion, and certainly, fans have seen better press conferences centered on a legitimate grudge.
That’s what happens when shit gets real

Colby wins 50-40. After watching usman interview I know deep down he knows so Colby is going to destroy Jorge but he can’t say that. If usman doesn’t exist Colby is the best on the planet

MMA has proved time and time again that you should never count a fighter out based on his win-loss record. However, this fan isn’t considering that as he backed Colby Covington.
I’ll take the guy who has 3 losses over the guy with 15.

One fan felt ‘Chaos’ lived up to his persona, but Masvidal’s mumbling annoyed him. The account also criticized MMA reporters.
Colby did great, Jorge mumbling over him felt like something a 10 year old would do. Either way it was super entertaining, why do you shitty mma reporters have to bitch about everything? Shut the fuck up and go watch golf if you’re trying to gain brain cells you keyboard warrior.
