Conor McGregor is one of the most popular athletes in the world and is famed for his skills in the Octagon and his trash-taking skills. Even celebrities and athletes of other sports often talk about McGregor. This was clear when Serena Williams’ behavior during the 2018 US Open final match was compared to McGregor by tennis legend Roger Federer.

Serena Williams screamed back to back at the chair umpire, Carlos Ramos, during the most anticipated tennis finals when she was slammed by him for a code violation for coaching (Williams’ coach, Patrick Mouratoglou), followed by a penalty for slamming her racket and a verbal abuse violation for calling him a thief.

Tennis Phenomenal Roger Federer made remarks on how Williams should have handled the situation, “It’s a melange of all things, but at some point, I feel like Serena should have walked away,” She did, but she went too far. She should have walked earlier. It’s a little bit excusable.”

Federer criticized Ramos’s decision, “The umpire maybe should not have pushed her there. It’s unfortunate, but an incredible case study.”

Later, he also said, Anything that’s good for society and gets the ball rolling, I’m all for it”.

He also compared McGregor’s behavior with tennis players. “We do so well in tennis; our sport is so well behaved. You see, the UFC guy [Conor McGregor] throw a railing, or in other sports, they spit and swear at each other on a regular basis”

It seems UFC superstar McGregor has his persona imprinted in MMA, WWE, boxing, and also in tennis. Currently, the UFC’s PPV king is making headlines about his anticipated comeback.
