Khamzat Chimaev is one unique fighter that wants to pick a scuffle with everybody. Most people play it off like a gimmick to gain media notoriety, but Chimaev doesn’t play games. The latest interaction with Joaquin Buckley didn’t go down too well.

Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev were backstage during an event when Buckley ran into the pair. Joaquin Buckley, a UFC middleweight, talked to Darren Till about a potential fight.

He stated, “You gotta let me get a fight, bro! It’s been a minute, man. You know what I’m saying? He [Chimaev] at 170 right now. Yeah, I can’t worry about him. But you, though, I need you.”

Till replied, “You wanna fight in July?… You gonna be ready?“, Buckley beckoned to the cameraman and said, “You better be recording… July? Let’s fight… London? Don’t say that… I been ready.

Chimaev, on the other hand, seemed dumbfounded by this out-of-the-blue conversation between Till and Buckley. 

After Buckley walked away, Chimaev asked Till, “Who is that guy?” Till chuckled and said, “I don’t know.” He went on to talk to Buckley directly, stating, “let’s fight now… You wanna play gangster I’m gonna f*** you up… f****** b****, nobody knows him… He takes a picture then he talks about he wants to fight.”

Chimaev had no clue that he was a fellow middleweight, and things got heated quickly. However, it heated quickly for Chimaev but was hilarious for all the fans to see.

Khamzat Chimaev and Darren Till: The ‘Smesh bros’ of the UFC 

The most wholesome friendship in the UFC is currently between Darren Till and Khamzat Chimaev. Absolutely chaotic, but the variables check out. The contrasting characters between both have a good mix which fans absolutely love. Both fighters continuously help each other get better by providing their expertise in their dominant fields.

Chimaev is a wrestler, whereas Till is a striker. These fighters supplement each other’s careers in a seemingly great way. Here’s proof of it. 

The pair created a moment at UFC 273 that will go down as one of the most iconic moments by a pair in the UFC. It was a picture of Chimaev sitting on top of the UFC octagon like an apex predator.

Till on the side also made the picture better, because it perfectly describes the both of them. ‘Smesh bros’ indeed.

Another thing that made UFC 273 special is the fact that top welterweight contender Gilbert Burns proved to be the toughest test for ‘Borz’ inside the octagon do date. As a result, UFC fans finally got to see more of Chimaev in action. Their bout resulted in Chimaev claiming a hard-earned unanimous decision victory.
