Khabib Nurmagomedov is a name that needs no introduction when it comes to the world of mixed martial arts. The retired UFC lightweight champion is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters to ever step inside the octagon. With a record of 29-0, Khabib‘s dominance in the sport is unquestionable. In October 2020, he announced his retirement from the UFC after defeating Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.

Nurmagomedov was usually present in his protégé, Islam Makhachev’s corner up until recently. After his complete separation from the sport of MMA, fans have rarely seen ‘The Eagle’. However, the former lightweight champ gave his fans a glimpse of himself when he posted some travel pictures on Instagram.

Nurmagomedov recently posted a bunch of pictures and videos on his Instagram where he can be seen exploring Egypt. The post went viral and in just one hour; it had more than 200,000 likes.

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s life post MMA retirement

After his retirement, ‘The Eagle’ was coaching fellow Dagestani fighters for some period of time. Fans could see him at Islam Makhachev’s corner. But recently, Nurmagomedov announced his plans to distance himself from the world of MMA completely. He said he wanted to devote all his time to his family. This was also the reason why Nurmagomedov did not even travel to Australia for a single day to mentor the current lightweight champ at UFC 284.

But after seeing his traveling pictures, fans are speculating that since Nurmagomedov is open to traveling now, they might also see him in Makhachev’s corner in a possible rematch against Alexander Volkanovski. Without his mentor by his side, Makhachev had a considerably tough time in his last match.
