UFC fighter turned analyst Chael Sonnen took to social media and engaged in a bitter back and forth with Jon Jones. Chiefly, this isn’t the first time both men have gone to battle, and it seems like it won’t be their last. Despite having fought over 7 years ago, the bad blood hasn’t truly spilled over between the two.

It seems as though every few months, the former rivals find themselves toe-to-toe in an online slugfest.
After an initial post from Jones claiming he would ‘give birth to something big’, Chael Sonnen took it upon himself to troll Jones. From there, things eventually picked up pace as they engaged in a verbal firefight. Jon Jones has since deleted his tweets targeted at Sonnen, however, ‘The American Gangster’ has left his tweets upon his account.

Oregon’s own, Chael Sonnen, immediately responded to an explicitly worded tweet from Jones that caught everyone’s attention. From the get-go, it was clear that things were nasty, as both men were ready to play in the mud.

Sonnen, who couldn’t ignore Jon Jones’ recent troubles securing a lucrative UFC contract for his heavyweight debut, offered Jones a measly $5k to compete under his SUG promotional banner in the meantime. Not to mention, Jones’s earlier statements about their UFC 159 fight were also met with resistance from Sonnen.

Things really seemed to heat up when the partners of both the aforementioned fighters were introduced into the mix. Sonnen didn’t hold back an inch, and he was more than happy to bring forth Jon Jones’ checkered past. From his stints in rehab to his Bentley hit-and-run incident, everything was fair game.

Ironically enough, things never became this contentious when both fought each other or coached against each other on TUF. However, through the years, the pent-up animosity that both men clearly feel toward the other reached the surface. Fans will be on the lookout to see how far along this enmity continues to flow.
