The UFC’s popularity has increased by leaps and bounds over the last decade. Owing to this, the president of the promotion, Dana White, gained all the riches and popularity he had wished for. But a shocking revelation came from him as he once appeared on the ‘Action Junkeez’ podcast. The UFC boss revealed that he had got only about ten and a half years of his life left. It’s pertinent to note that Dana White isn’t quite an enthusiast of healthy eating. Weekly videos of him eating junk food and a lot of other unhealthy stuff often receive a lot of reactions from fans, but on the other hand, they also take a toll on White’s health.

Recently, the noted UFC Middleweight fighter, Joaquin Buckley, expressed his concern over Dana White’s unhealthy eating habits. The UFC president named the segment of his eating videos, ‘Fu*k It Friday’. Buckley posted a video on his Instagram account, calling out White. He included a similar ‘Fu*k It Friday’ video in his post where White was seen having a munch at ‘Alfredo Tacos’.

In his video, White also narrated the recipe for this preparation, saying, “batter one chicken breast and fry it for a Taco shell”, he continued, “fill it with Alfredo Pasta.

White stated, “Alright, here we go. This is gonna be messy as hell” as he took a sizable bite of the dish.

Buckley didn’t seem at all impressed with White’s mindless video segment, which invisibly hampered his health a lot. He said, “Dana, you spent ten weeks to get your life back in order”. Buckley stated that because of all these habits, Dana has “10.4 years to live” but he was still doing “Fu*k It Friday”.

‘New Mansa’ softened his tone as he said, “Dana, it’s just me man, I care for you.” He went on, “Stop Fu*k It Friday. You don’t need to be doing them anymore.” Buckley wasn’t too wrong to say this.

Despite all the riches and fame, White probably didn’t need to continue doing such a video segment. It causes huge harm to his already depleted health condition.

Adopting a bit of sarcasm, Buckley iterated, “I’m glad that you actually picked the right name for Fu*k It Friday, coz you are fu**ing up your stomach, you’re fu**ing up yourself totally”.

Buckley’s intention was apparently ‘noble’. A lot of MMA fans would have felt the same way, like Buckley. Every fight fan would love to watch the UFC reach new heights; as it has been doing under the reign of Dana White. But, it is equally important for the boss to stay fit and active if the UFC is to do so.

The coveted scrap between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in 2002 was when I realized the passion for combat sports within my family. My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC. Like many of you, I too, tuned in for the infamous Nurmagomedov vs. McGregor bout live on October 6, 2018. Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with. So I took it upon myself to do my part in popularizing the thrill and the agony behind the purest form of unarmed combat. At EssentiallySports, I try to bring the readers closer to the athletes and focus my coverage on exploring the human side of these martial artists. I’m a musician during my time free from reporting MMA. I operate as the lead vocalist of a rock band that aims to make their mark among the audiences with their original alternative-hard rock songs.
