Colby Covington has found his way back into the big game, after he showed up for the UFC 286 weigh-ins within a day’s notice, as a backup for the main event. He not only shocked the world with his appearance, but also claimed the world’s attention after Dana White declared him to be the next fighter to get a title shot. Undoubtedly, the UFC president’s decision was met with significant pushback from MMA fans.

Nevertheless, White was hell-bent on letting the fight take place.

Dana White thinks Colby Covington deserves the title shot against Leon Edwards

The events at UFC San Antonio packed enough excitement to enhance the fans’ entropy. However, the world was still stuck with the announcement from UFC 286. Although White understood why ‘Rocky’ was putting his hands high, he said that it was what being a champion meant. “I mean, when you become the champ, everybody’s coming after you,” said the UFC boss. Finally, he said, “Usman is one of the greatest of all time. And he, you know, Leon just beat him twice. You’re the man, Leon. You’re the guy. Everybody is coming after you. It’s gonna be Colby next.”
