Colby Covington has found his way back into the big game, after he showed up for the UFC 286 weigh-ins within a day’s notice, as a backup for the main event. He not only shocked the world with his appearance, but also claimed the world’s attention after Dana White declared him to be the next fighter to get a title shot. Undoubtedly, the UFC president’s decision was met with significant pushback from MMA fans.

However, White remained adamant about letting Covington fight Leon Edwards for the title of welterweight champion. Recently, during the post-fight press conference at UFC San Antonio, the UFC boss was asked if there were any chances that Covington might not get the fight. Nevertheless, White was hell-bent on letting the fight take place.

Without wasting a moment, White asked why wouldn’t ‘Chaos’ deserve a title shot. The reporter, then revealed that the fans were skeptical over his inactivity since May 2022. Finally, he said, “Usman is one of the greatest of all time. And he, you know, Leon just beat him twice. You’re the man, Leon. You’re the guy. Everybody is coming after you.
