

A new season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ is ready to return in 2022. The reality show produced by UFC gives new MMA fighters the chance to show their talent and skills to the world. With a new season to air next year, there is a tremendous demand for UFC fighters Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal to coach the fighters for the show.
Covington and Masvidal have had bad blood in the past. Therefore, their rivalry could be a strong point for the show and the fighters they coach.

Interestingly, both the fighters used to be on great terms earlier and were good friends. However, their rivalry started when UFC was unable to make Covington an offer for the title fight. Instead, they quickly looked at Masvidal. Thus, Covington fired at Masvidal on Twitter and their friendship came to an end.
Daniel Cormier on Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal, potentially coaching TUF fighters
In an interview, retired UFC fighter Daniel Cormier was asked if Covington and Masvidal should be the coaches for TUF. Cormier said, “I am tapping in, no-brainer. This is a no-brainer. I mean you want on The Ultimate Fighter to have guys that can’t stand each other.”
He continued, “Do you remember Rampage and Rashad, how those guys would fight every single time? Do you remember Chael and Wanderlei fighting on set?… You’ve got to have that bad blood and these two would make for a great season of television. I am tapping in.”

Having Covington and Masvidal as coaches on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ would definitely attract a lot of curiosity. Fans know Covington for his ability to sell fights and gain attention. Similarly, Masvidal is a huge name in the MMA community and has many fans. Getting both on board for the upcoming season can be a monumental decision for the promotion.
