UFC fighter Zhang Weili cut off her locks and revealed her new look in an Instagram post. After losing her title to Rose Namajunas, Weili seems to have taken inspiration from Namajunas’ easy-to-manage hairstyle and it looks like she is loving her new hair.

While Weili’s new look is fantastic, many have compared it to Namajunas’ hair. ‘Thug’ opted for short hair back in 2015 because having longer hair interfered with her practice. Interestingly, Weili chose a similar style, and hence, comparisons between both the fighters were inevitable, especially after their fight at UFC 261. Weili lost her title to Namajunas after a brutal knockout. This was the second loss in her UFC career, but she graciously congratulated Namajunas for her victory.

In a recent interview, the strawweight fighter revealed the reason behind her new look. She said, “I am so concerned that I am getting bald from my jiu-jitsu practice, so I have always wanted to cut my hair.”

According to Weili, “At this level, we’re all close technically. It’s all about who is more mentally steady. I think for the rematch, her psychological pressure might be greater than mine.”

As fans anticipate the rematch, Weili has already started preparing for the bout and has been training with Henry Cejudo in Arizona. Cejudo, the former UFC flyweight champion, is optimistic about Weili’s performance in the rematch.
