Colby Covington losing to Leon Edwards at UFC 296 after a lot of heated trash-talk during the build-up is still fresh in the memories of most fight fans. Everyone remembers the brutal verbal spat he dished out for Edwards and looks like fans haven’t forgiven ‘Chaos’ for any of it. For the time being, Covington is on the sidelines but fans aren’t taking it easy on him.

The NFL season finale is upon us and the Kansas City Chiefs will be battling it out against San Francisco 49ers in a matter of hours. Seeing his opportunity, Covington uploaded a post promoting a betting app. But fans wanted to remind Covington of the bitter loss and ask him uncomfortable questions about his fame.

Colby Covington is infamous for having shiny posts and promotions on his social media. A lot of times, Covington is seen promoting things by videoing himself surrounded by models. Fans were quick to notice that this had gradually decreased after his loss at UFC 296.

Covington has posed with many, including the likes of his idol Donald Trump. But his promotions with models were the most frequent. One could say it was his staple. However, Trump walked out of the arena before Covington finished his UFC 296 speech after his loss.

And now, fans believe the fighter has become unable to work with his usual gravitas. Is it all true? His popularity ratings are certainly not as high as they used to be and it became evident the moment he lost. That’s because a crowd that came in rooting for Covington started booing him as soon as he lost.

Perhaps fans refusing to use the betting app just because of Covington’s association is the “seventh layer of hell” for his fame. Regardless, Covington keeps up his spirits and does what he does best. Playing a character or not, the fighter refuses to go back on the way he sells himself and his fights. Will we see him fight it out in the cage anytime soon? Let us know your thoughts.
