The Las Vegas Raiders swiftly released the 33-year-old ‘defensive end’ following his arrest. Fans of the Jones family of athletes reacted with an undertone of sadness and criticism, and couldn’t help but compare the brothers. Here’s everything you need to know.

Jon Jones and his brother have a rough history with the law

Personal issues led to unfortunate outcomes for the defensive player. Allegedly, Jones stole items from his ex-partner’s yard and even set them on fire and sent her pictures of her things burning. He also recorded himself stealing those things. Jones’ ex had an active restraining order against him. And this probably made things even trickier than they already were.

Fans were quick to compare him to his brother, Jon Jones who was himself accused of domestic violence, among a lot of other things. The UFC heavyweight champion also had run-ins with the law for damaging a police car, driving under the influence, and more.

Fans on Reddit are often much more analytical and brutal. Here, the UFC and NFL fandoms came together to analyze the situation as critically as possible and almost no one had a kind thing to say.

CTE stands for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, a brain condition that occurs because of repeated injuries or blows to the head. When ‘Bones’ first got arrested for the hit-and-run, Joe Rogan implied that the fighter’s impulsive life choices may be a result of his brain trauma.
