It’s time to get ready as we have some new and interesting stories from the combat sports world, especially MMA. Here’s another edition of the daily roundup for you to stay updated on the latest key moments from this sport. As such, we will start this roundup edition with Dana White, who was jibed at for the UFC fighter pay-related issues. One would think that the chapter is over, but it seems it has followed the head honcho to his latest Netflix appearance.

Then we will pay our undivided attention to Alex Pereira, who is going to compete against Anthony Smith. Seems like after a successful UFC 301, ‘Lionheart’ is up and ready to prove his name right! Finally, we will sum up the daily news compilation with Sean O’Malley dismissing Merab Dvalishvili‘s claims about a title shot. This isn’t shocking after O’Malley barely acknowledged Dvalishvili after his UFC 299 title defense.

Netflix recently released ‘The Roast of Tom Brady’, and Dana White was there among the audience invited to attend the show. He was not alone though, as the UFC CEO had Max Holloway, Sean O’Malley, and longtime UFC commentator, Joe Rogan‘s friend, Tony Hinchcliffe. White was already subject to a lot of roasts from the comedians who were on stage. However, when Andrew Schulz came in to deliver his monologue, he did not spare the 54-year-old promoter and brought up the controversial topic of fighter pay.

“That’s why Dana’s here so you can learn how to fuck a Brazilian out of half their purse,” said the 40-year-old comedian. It may have been a roast, but that statement signified the instances when Dana White would not pay fighters as much as they should have. This comment seemed untimely, as the UFC just paid $335 million to settle the class action lawsuit.

Alex Pereira is ready to prove his mettle against ‘Lionheart’ Anthony Smith

The light heavyweight champion of the UFC recently offered to compete against veteran Anthony Smith in a grappling match, which ‘Lionheart’ accepted. However, that offer came with a few harsh words from Alex Pereira, as the Brazilian did not hold back on his thoughts about the former one-time title challenger. During an appearance on ‘Connect Coast’, ‘Poatan’ claimed that he was ready to put a sum of $50,000 up for grabs for Smith to win because he believed he could easily overpower and put the veteran to sleep.

“I can start on his back… I got 5 minutes to finish him and he wants to put $50k up for it? I’ll take his $50k, I’ll take his money… If I start on his back, I’ll choke the sh*t out of him. 100 percent,” Anthony Smith stated during the UFC 301 post-fight pressers. It remains to be seen if this grappling contest really comes to fruition soon.

Sean O’Malley snubs Merab Dvalishvili’s UFC 306 claims

Merab Dvalishvili recently paid a visit to the Indian Subcontinent for the first time. He joined Indian fighter Anshul Jubli to catch up with the Indian UFC fans during a meet-and-greet event in Mumbai. But when he caught up with the UFC India team, the Georgian fighter went on to reveal that he will be contending for the title next against Sean O’Malley at the $2.3 billion-worth Sphere in Las Vegas. However, the reigning champion dismissed those claims, stating that nothing has been finalized yet.

“Merab at the sphere is not targeted as far as I know. I’ve been pushing for that but UFC hasn’t said anything,” stated Sean O’Malley on his Instagram stories. Merab Davlishvili has racked up enough wins to make a case for him to get a title shot. But is that what Dana White has planned for the bantamweight division? We will have to wait and see.
