Dana White‘s new venture, Powerslap, is now on TV. The first episode was aired on the 18th of January. The format of the show has athletes vying for rankings in one of the four weight classes. Similar to the UFC, athletes also try to secure a PPV event. As the show got aired on TV, it got reactions from fans and experts. NFL superstar Stefon Diggs has shared a story on his Instagram handle about watching the Powerslap on TV. The story got reshared by Powerslap’s official Instagram handle. Diggs seemed surprised and intrigued at the same time.

Stefon Diggs wears the no.14 Jersey for the Buffalo Bills in the NFL. He is a wide receiver. Diggs was a Track and Fields athlete in his earlier days before being drafted in 2015 by the Minnesota Vikings. Diggs gave some exciting reactions in his video.

NFL star gives a running commentary
Watching the raw action unfold on the television, Diggs said, “This is some crazy s**t right”. He further added, “They are here smacking s**t outta each other My gosh, there is some new s**t on TV.” The video showed Kortney Olson and Sheena Bathory lining up against each other. The slap from Sheena was so hard on Kortney Olson that she did an involuntary somersault in a bid to get back in the game and failed miserably.

The referee had to stop the fight, and Sheena Bathory got herself solid content for a highlight reel. He also followed the Jon Kennedy vs Wesley Drain slap fight. The fight went longer than the previous fights as both competitors absorbed a slap each but the second slap from Wesley Drain proved too much for Kennedy, who couldn’t get back to the fight and handed Drain a victory.

Dana White is backing the promotion
While Powerslap has been under fire for being too violent, UFC president Dana White has backed it. Many fans are unhappy to see Powerslap being promoted as a sport as they feel it has no skill involved and athletes are being put in danger of getting seriously injured.

In Powerslap’s defense, Dana White had said that a Powerslap athlete gets only 3-4 slaps but a boxer may take 300-400 hits in a boxing bout. While fans had divided opinions on this logic, Powerslap has become a sporting reality.
